The End Of Lent.

WOW! I did it, I actually got to the end of Lent without any chocolate, biscuits or cake.
I have been saving a Ripple for 40 days, and now I cant bear to eat it, it has become my friend. LOL

Family over today for Easter Egg Hunt and Dinner. My feet are killing me I stood all day yesterday cooking and have been up since 6am making cinnamon buns, and cupcakes. The storms last night had me worried, but we have woke up to a beautiful morning, just keep our fingers crossed it stays that way.

I have soooo much chocolate to hide, it will probably take me a week, and its so darn hot today, I think they will need cups as it will soon turn into liquid.

Happy Easter one and all xxx

Gotta Love the Auction Site

Our much loved playhouse, made its last appearance today.

Sadly, the kids have outgrown it, and it has now moved on to new owners courtesy of the auction site. I hope they love it as much as we have. With a little TLC, it will be good as new.

Next item on the list is the climbing frame, also looking for a new home, its kinda sad, end of an era, and the realisation that the kids are growing up way too fast for my liking. It wont be long before they are leaving home.

On the plus side, we have now regained out garden, all bar a little corner where the trampoline still resides, much used and still very popular, having provided many years of fun.

The garden look so much bigger now, and I am looking forward to planting up new shrubs and flowers this spring.

Never let the Devil Know your Plans.

What a beautiful morning we woke up to. I had just a few chores to do and casually said to the other half, I think I will sit in the garden with a book in a bit. BIG MISTAKE! Almost immediately, the sky clouded over and rain threatened. I should have listened to my fathers advice " Never let the devil know your plans". Boy I could eat some chocolate right now, comfort eating - I stupidly decided to give up chocolate for lent, lucky for me its nearly over, and I have survived so far. I wonder if the attraction will be so strong when I can in fact eat it again guilt free.

Chatham Historical Dockyard.

After a false start we finally made it to Chatham Historical Dockyard. The rain held off and we managed to finished the day, without the kids bickering, 2 boats, a submarine, robots exhibition and museums. My knees are killing me after ascending and descending various ladders, steps and ramps, my feet have come out in sympathy too. Ah well, a well deserved stop off at TGI Fridays on the way home recharged out batteries. Very nice it was too, and I can indeed recommend the Jack Daniels glazed chicken starter YUM!

Birthdays....BAH HUMBUG.

What do you do with people that dont enjoy birthdays? Quietly ignore them. I love my birthday, and it miffs me that other people dont. Oh well! I shall just have to resign myself to the fact that we cant all be the same, and look forward to enjoying mine later in the year. I cant believe I have actually relented and turned the heating back on. It is positively freezing today, lets hope it perks up for the weekend.

Mmmm...........Cinnamon buns.

Cooking is a craft right?

It seems of late, I am spending a lot of time cooking.

These buns are becoming legendary. The ingredients make up far more than we could eat, and have been given away to friends and family, until someone suggested that I could of in fact froze some LOL. So thats what I will do in the future.

What started as a joke became a reality, and I boxed up and posted a batch of these, surprisingly they turned up looking exactly the same as when i posted them. Big Shout for royal mail who I am normally slating for a poor service.

I must get out of the kitchen and into the craft room, I have far too much 'stuff' accumulating.

Tea and Cake.................This is my first post on what I hope will be a blog to record my creative projects. Although few and far between these days, hopefully this will encourage me to get motivated and produce more. So the first item has to be cake! These gorgeous cupcakes, made for my sons birthday, whats your preference? Chocolate? Lemon? Vanilla?
