shoes.

Found this lovely little template some
time ago, I love it so much, its so versatile, made here for halloween, but similarly would be great for christmas or party favours.

Add caption
3d Paper craft shoe.  This is so simple yet effective, see below for step by step instructions.

Carefully cut around the template.

Print out template and attach to chosen cardstock with removable tape runner.

Score along perferated lines on both templates.

Fold along all score lines.

Begin glueing the shoe template together leaving the front top flaps open at this stage.

Glue insert (liner) into shoe.

Glue shoe front together and decorate in your own style .

I hope you will enjoy making and sharing your own shoes on the Craft Cupboard Blog, or leave a message here with a link to your own blog, and I will visit to take a look.

Christmas...............

Full steam ahead for the christmas season now which I love, Cakes are in process being fed brandy on a regular basis.  I am looking forward to a baking day, with my good friend, playing carols, drinking mulled wine, and the warm fuzzy feeling you get when the smell from the oven purmeates the air.  I love christmas.  Cant wait until December when I can put up the tree and decorations.

I have started on my present shopping, a little later than usual.  And so far so good.   I guess I should start thinking about cards!

And speaking of decorations, I have had this mad idea that I would like a post box, yep a real royal mail red one..having done some research, I have to admit, that the price tag is just a step too far LOL.  I have now commissioned a replica, which I am hoping will come to fruition, I will keep you updated on its progress. (disaster or not)

I will post some of my favourites recipes over the coming weeks,  which I hope you may like to try.

This week I am working on a birthday cake for my niece, rainbow sponge, which I admit is a nightmare LOL.  Made one, and said I wouldnt do another, but here I am in the same situation stresses over doing something I have had no training in and just winging it.....   Photos to follow on completion.

I am still trying to break into the world of blogs, such a mine field for me.   I am starting to realise that I must update my blog much more often.

I know some people use it as a way of therapy, or as a diary, or just to share their crafts etc.  I am always so busy doing nothing I completely forget, perhaps I should try a knotted handkerchief
To remind me LOL. ..

The Cupboard Trilogy Challenge No 2 Going Live today!

The http://thecupboardtrilogychallenges.blogspot.co.uk/  Going live today, the second challenge of our newly formed Cupboard trilogy, please hop on over for a chance to win some great prizes and have some fun.  DT work available for inspiration, Here is mine for this month, The challenge was to use embossing, but as I had no access to an embossing machine and my embossing powders were buried under a pile of who knows what, i had to improvise chosing to use some plastic embellishment flowers and a bone folder, What do you think?, I think, maybe a little more practice to perfect the technique but pretty happy with it myself.

Juggling

What a busy few weeks I have had, trying to juggle what seemed like a million different things at once.   Suffering the effects now with a aches, pains a cold (although that appears to be leaving now).    Looking forward to the school holidays and a change in routine,  I will probably regret saying that fairly quickly LOL , once the kids start urguing and I have listened to "Mum, Im bored" for the umpteenth time.  Teenage years are the most difficult I believe No longer a child, but not quite an adult....

Looking forward to the school holidays, and the break in routine.  Although, I guess i will be regretting saying that when the holidays start and the kids begin arguing, and I have heard "Mum, Im bored" for the umpteenth time.

Hopefully, I will have a bit more time for crafting over the next few weeks, I need a bit of me time, to slow down, and take stock of my life........A change is acoming!!!!

Camp........

Well, not  camp exactly, but a rather large house.  Yes its that time of year again and we are taking the Brownies away for the weekend.  Challenging for both Leaders and Girls Alike.  Many have never slept away from home EVER!.  So much to organise before friday, so all thought of crafting is on hold.

Its a rather tight ship this time as 2 people have let me down, so only 2 leaders, a cook and a young leader, usually we have 6 adult leaders.   Lets see how the dynamics change, it should be interesting, and I am sure the few of us that are going will be shattered, we are taking 17 girls, mostly 7 year olds.

Lets hope I dont forget anything as leader in charge I supposed to stay on site, but as the only driver, that might be difficult.....

Another Day...........

How many of us are wishing right now there was another day in the week.   I have such a busy schedule over the coming weeks, I am not quite sure how i will fit everything in......Wedding stationary to finish (for 2 weeks time).  18th Birthday invites to make. for 2 weeks time. Brownie camp to organise, lead and recover from friday week. Then 2 weddings and an 18th to attend in the same week. Lots of other menial things to attend to inbetween.

All this slowed down by the disruptive exam schedule, which leaves my daughter home for much of the time during the next few weeks.   I am finding it really difficult to concentrate on the jobs in hand with this rather lovely intrusion of my usually lonesome days LOL x

Wedding stationary for the lovely Sam & Dave.  Working now on table plans and place names etc.  Love this design.

Will update with clapper board birthday invites as soon as I have completed them.

Rain.......

What a surprise to wake up this morning and find the rain has stopped!! I wonder how long it will last.  Weather report says no rain today and I am sure it isnt April the 1st, so fingers crossed.

Sharing this layout again, my sister and I, taken when she was undergoing treatment for BC.  Makes you realise just how precious life is.   Thankfully, all is well right now x

The Hunger Games

What a fantastic film.  I was sceptical when the kids asked me to go with them, but must say I thoroughly enjoyed it.  Very emotional, a bit violent, but pretty damn good.

Got soaked running back to the car, and drove home in torrential rain, but other than that a good day was had by all.  Even managed a little bit of shopping too.

Loving The Holiday.

Oh!  How I love the school holidays.  Just the break in routine is uplifting in itself.  So far, so good, no major arguments just the usual sibling squabbles, usually around mealtimes LOL.  Enough to give you indigestion.  We are looking forward to the Easter Egg Hunt A La The Bryans on Sunday.   Last year we were still finding chocolate eggs in Autumn.   We do love to go OTT.   Here's a little peek at what our friends and family can expect...........

Glad I didnt give up chocolate for lent, last time I did that I couldnt eat chocolate for weeks :) x

GOGO Getaway 2012.

What A lovely Weekend in more ways than one.  The sun was shining, the Daffs were out, and to top it all, I got to spend time with friends old and new.

This was the 8th GOGO getaway, and my third.  And I must say that this has been by far the best for me.  The lovely GOGO girls changing and perfecting the event using suggestions, and tried and tested methods from previous events, to make it all go with a flow.

Here are some of my creations from the weekend, will post more as and when I finish the minor details like journalling.

1. This is one of my favourite classes, by Lisa Griffin - I can paint a rainbow.  Painting on black and white photo's, I will definitely be using this technique again.

2. Another great class from the lovely Janice Warren - Wishi Washi, Nice and relaxed perfect for a late night :).
Loved making the washi tape, have never been a fan, but now i know how to do my own, and create perfect matching designs and colours, I will be doing this again, and again.

3. Labels class by Lorraine Ablett, perfect for my designer loving daughter, had no idea what the class entailed but took along some labels which we had been collecting, and they were perfect for the cause. This class was all about making your own labels but i was able to incorporate some of our own.

The Craft Room Clear Up Continues.....

All those pretties, found down the back of the desk, in a carrier bag. LOL.

EDITING

Trying to work out how to edit and change formats is a bit beyond my capabilities so it seems........

Craft Room Chaos.

Still trying unsuccessfully to reorganise my craft room into a space that will be more productive than it has been over recent months.

Still cant see the desk, but I can at least now get in the door, and sit down. But thats just it, I sit down look around, sigh, leave the room, close the door and forget it for another day LOL.

Despite the mess, I have managed to do a couple of small items. - 2 cards, a messy craft room and an ATC.

Will post a picture at a later date of my new and improved tidy room.

Doesnt Time Fly!

Boy, oh Boy! I havent been here in a long time.

All those good intentions to blog regularly, lost in time.

Lets give it another try.

Here we are in 2012, I wonder what this new year will bring. I have no idea, but hope it brings health, wealth and happiness to one and allxx.

Since my last entry I have been learning British Sign language , which has been fun. I am not sure how far I will take it, as to become a qualified Translator take 7 years, round about the time I will be thinking about retiring (early of course). Well, if nothing else if i lose my hearing in old age at least I will be able to communicate in a language that doesnt require hearing.
